Animal complaints: 22

– Any domestic animal, including dogs and cats, shall be either physically confined or restrained upon the premises of the owner, keeper or harborer except when the animal is lawfully accompanied by the owner, keeper or harborer or a handler and properly in leash.

1:07am – While conducting a traffic stop on Warrensville Ctr. Rd., the officer discovered that both the 26yo male driver and his 25yo male passenger have suspended licenses. The driver was cited, vehicle was towed and both parties walked home.

11:53am – Complaintant reported his stolen vehicle is in front of a residence on Raymond St. and occupied by at least one male. Officers stopped the vehicle on Maple Hts. Blvd. and arrested two subjects. A female and a male, both 18 yrs old who were charged with auto theft.

12:12pm – Complaintant from Granger Rd. reported six JUVENILES were throwing rocks at her house.

8:12am – Female from Wingate Ave. reported money taken from her purse which was in her vehicle. Unknown party gained entry into the complaintant’s UNLOCKED vehicle and took $40.

8:47am – Complaintant from Gerard reported an aggressive white & brown pit bull that keeps charging when he tries to go outside. Upon officers arrival, the dog was observed running up and down the street with no owner. The dog ran to a Gerard driveway where the officer made contact with a juvenile who stated the dog did live there and no adults were at home. A summons was completed for animal at large and will be served later. Message left for the animal warden.

As an animal lover, I find this incident horrendous.
10:34pm – Male reported his dog was stabbed and is dead in the backyard of a Dalewood Ave. residence. The dog was stabbed in the head and there are no signs of life. Message was left for the animal warden to collect the body. House is vacant. No suspects at this time.

Don’t leave purses in unlocked vehicles!
12:32pm – Female from Maplepark Dr. came on station to report someone went through her car and took her purse. Her car was left UNLOCKED. The vehicle was gone through last night at her mother’s residence and her purse was taken. She is unable to lock her vehicle because the key doesn’t work to unlock.

7:03pm – Vehicle on Kennerdown Ave. was UNLOCKED and sometime overnight a Garmin GPS valued at approx $100 and $10 in change was taken.

8:21am – Complaintant from Grasmere Ave. stated she parked her UNLOCKED vehicle in the driveway at 12:30am, and when she checked her vehicle later she discovered someone went through the vehicle and stole her Rush prepaid bank card, Ohio driver’s license, social security card and her vehicle insurance card.

9:51pm – Report of 2 suspicious parties inside the arcade at Mapletown on Broadway Ave. Caller stated she saw sparks coming from the area and is not sure what they are doing. An 18yo male and a 17yo female were arrested and charged with arson.

5:51pm – Female from Anthony St. (not on scene) reported several kids in her pool – she will be arriving home from her destination. Three juveniles, one 15 yr. old, one 14 yr. old and one 13 yr old, were arrested and turned over to their guardians. One 10 yr. old juvenile was listed as missing.

1:26am – Male called to report an intoxicated male driver crashed into a wall behind Home Depot.  As officers were arriving in the lot, the driver exited his vehicle, lost his balance, fell down and hit his head. A squad was dispatched and the subject was transported to Metro Hospital. The officer responded with the squad to obtain a blood sample from the driver. The 37yo male driver was charged with failure to reinstate his license.

2:23am – Caller from Maple Hts Blvd. stated there is alot of yelling and loud talking coming from the backyard of her neighbor. She states this is an ongoing problem and she has spoken to them about this before. All quiet on officers arrival in the area.

2:33am – Traffic stop on North Blvd./Cato St. of the vehicle that just left the scene of the incident noted above. Vehicle ran over and parked on a Maple Hts Blvd. residents lawn, but there is no visible damage to the lawn or residence. The 34yo female subject was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and driving under suspension. Vehicle was towed.

9:49am – Burglary report from a Stockton Ave. residence where 2 TV’s, playstation and a gun were taken.

8:32pm – Complaintant from McCracken Rd. reported 5 JUVENILES in the middle of the street, throwing rocks and teasing his dog. Juveniles were gone when officers arrived.

8:33pm – Caller from Dunham Rd. reported 3 black JUVENILES about to fight in front of the Dollar General store. No weapons. Employee called back stated the juveniles left prior Officers arrival.

9:03pm -Officer attempting to stop a vehicle showing stolen out of East Cleveland.  Vehicle is occupied 5 people. Pursuit from Clement St. and Libby Rd.  Vehicle came to a stop at the Thomas St. dead end where parties inside bailed on foot. Foot chase into Bedford. One 14yo female stayed in vehicle. A 17yo male subject, who was the driver, was later apprehended by Bedford Police (armed with a handgun). No damage to the vehicle but ignition was punched.
