Maple Heights Democratic Club Hosts Mayoral Forum

On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 6:30 PM in the Maple Height Library Auditorium the Maple Heights Democratic Club will host a forum with Mayoral candidates. Video of the forum is available here

Five Candidates for Maple Heights Mayoral Primary

5 Candidates have had their petitions certified by the Board of Elections for the Mayoral race and will be on the September 8, 2015 Primary ballot. These Candidates are:

  • Annette Blackwell, who ran unsuccessfully in 2013 for City Council for District 1. Blackwell was appointed by Mayor Lansky to the 2011 Charter Review Commission.
  • District 5 Councilman, Bill Brownlee, who is in his first term on city council, will be “giving up” his seat to run for Mayor.
  • Donald Grossmyer, has pulled petitions. Donald has been a Police Officer for the Maple Heights Police Department for almost 25 years.
  • Neomia Mitchell, former 2 term District 7 City Councilwoman. This will be Mitchell’s third time running for Mayor after losing to Mayor Lansky in 2011 and 2007.
  • Frank M. Rives, has pulled petitions. Rives has run unsuccessfully for City Council (2003, 2005) Mayor (2007) and School Board (2001) in the past.

The two candidates earning the most votes at the primary will advance to the General Election on November 3, 2015.
