(0:25) Amendments to Agenda (WM Rep)

(1:52) 2015-14 ask Cefaratti to withdraw. (replaced by 2015-20)

(2:20) 2015-19 An ordinance amending section 866.04 of the codified ordinances regarding the application, fingerprints and photographs in the police department.

(2:48) 2015-20 A resolution requesting the County auditor to certify the total current tax valuation of the city and the dollar amount of revenue to that would be generated by the an additional 1.3 Mill tax levy for 5 years for the purpose of current expenses and general operations of the Maple Heights Senior Center. This piece of legislation was reintroduced so that monies can be collected in 2016 (instead of 2017).

(3:45) 2015-21 Resolution to submit a 1.3 Mill tax levy for 5 years to the electors of the City of Maple Heights at the November 3, 2015 election for the purpose of current expenses and general operations of the Maple Heights Senior Center. This piece of legislation was reintroduced so that monies can be collected in 2016 (instead of 2017).

  • Nowhere in ordinance book did it say $150 for grass cutting

(6:05) 2015-24 An ordinance amending Chapter 1484 of the codified ordinances regarding the registration of foreclosed, forfeited or vacant properties.  #woodscove were challenging paying the foreclosure fee because the properties were being forfeited at sheriff’s sale. Jackson clarifies that our legal department has reviewed this.

(9:45) 2015-25 An resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor, to enter into a contract to provide for the resurfacing a portion of Lee Road. Original legislation passed in 2013.

(10:30) Jackson ask about Libby Road being resurfaced. Won’t be happening until 2016. ADA ramps are first.

(12:00) 2015-26 Authorizing Mayor to enter into a cooperative purchasing program with ODOT for Rock Salt.

(15:25) Kulp explains 2015-29. City no longer fingerprints manually therefore they are no longer allowed by the state to do so for occupational purposes- there are authorized places that people can go.

(17:15) Waste Management. Certified drivers for Waste Watch program (helps drivers to know what to report to the police). WM Tour available to Council. New route manager. Street cans emptied by WM are now routed. Donated a roll-off for demolition of construction trailer. Identified illegal dumping. Better communication between WM and Service Department. (22:16) large item pick up “bulk pick-up” call customer service center. (23:03) will pick up tires if called out for them. Cefaratti noticed increase in complaints in the past 6 months. Cefaratti doesn’t want this driver to lose his job, but moved to a different route (so someone else can experience bad service?!). WM always hiring. Jackson asks if they are participating in Job Fair. How much does tire disposal cost? $127/ton + $400 trucking. Tire round-up should be provided by Solid Waste District to Maple Heights. The City pays for Solid Waste District Services (hazardous waste, tires, and electronics).

Fire Hydrant Flushing: Accepting Aluminum cans at both fire stations. Raises money for child burn victims.

(19:35) Human Services Department: Matching Gift of $600 for Candy Sales. Raffle May 15th. Bedford Post Office donated food from their postal food drive. DARE Park was vandalized. Non-profits offering sports to Maple Heights residents:MH Boys League (Baseball. Have teams for girls as well.), Saints Football & Cheer

(17:50) Mayors Report. Litter: from vehicles, walkers, and how trash is packaged for trash day.  Community Service. Not bringing empty can back in from tree lawn. Potholes. Asphalt plant was closed last week. 5-6 guys in service department filling potholes. Stop signs on E 141st, Traffic Cameras 94% of the people receiving tickets weren’t residents.

(25:40) District 6. Community Clean-up day: Saturday May 30th.   District 6th Community Awareness Meeting at Library (ESOP, Lions Club) May 18th. District 6 Best Yard Contest.

(29:11) District 1. Thanks Lions Club for donation of flowers for the war memorial. Monday May 25th 78th consecutive Memorial Day Parade. Parade steps off at 10:15. Route: Clement (High School staff parking lot)  to Libby to Lee.
