1:52am – 21yr. old complainant from Maplewood Ave. reported she and her 24yr. old boyfriend took LSD earlier today and the male just ran through the screen door and is running through the neighborhood naked.  Male located in the area of Rockside and Lee Rd. South.  Squad was dispatched and the male was transported to Marymount Hospital.

11:46am – 44yr. old female and 53yr. old male from Warrensville Ctr. Rd. were having a heated verbal argument over cooking eggs on a skillet.  Female complaintant stated that the male came at her with the skillet.  Officers found that no threats were made with the skillet.

11:55pm – A citation for disturbing the peace was issued to a resident on Rockside Rd.  The 24yr. old subject had the vehicle parked outside of her neighbors children’s window while playing loud music and revving the engine.

12:24am – 15yr. old subject from Fairway Ave. reported her friend was having an asthma attack on the sidewalk.  The 15yr. old friend was transported to Marymount Hospital and the subject was transported to the Maple Heights Jail and turned over to her 20yr. old brother.  The 45yr. old mother was cited for Curfew Violation.

2:09am – Female on Steinway Blvd. stated she has been having problems with ghosts in her house.  The complaintant reported that although she does not see anyone, she is hearing voices and hears people walking around in her house. Officers could not find any evidence of ghosts being in the residence and advised any ghosts in the house that they should leave.  The complainant was satisfied with that.

9:35am – Vehicle reported stolen from Sunnyslope Rd. and incident was filmed on the surveillance camera.

SCAM ALERT!

11:36am – 77yr. old male came into the lobby to report fraud.  He said he was contacted the day after Christmas by a male who identified himself as Sgt. Troy, from the Miami Beach Florida Police Dept. The scam consisted of the victim purchasing Green Dot money pak cards for bond for a family member and given a phone number (area code (438)) to confirm transaction.  Unfortunately after sending the money, he then contacted the family member who stated he had not been in Miami Beach nor had he been arrested for any criminal act.  Officers looked up the phone number and discovered it is from the Montreal, Canada area and found several online scam reports run from numbers that begin with that telephone area code.  Contact the Ohio Attorney Generals Office if you get a call like this.

6:18pm – Officer was on a traffic stop on Warrensville Ctr. Rd. and the driver was cited for driving under suspension.  The driver was also arrested because he had 3 warrants; Garfield Hts. Municiple Court for assault, Eastlake for failure to appear and Ashtabula County.

12:11am – Complainant from Lee Rd. reported residents are smoking marijuana and playing loud music. Upon officers arrival loud music could be heard coming from the apartment and the resident was cited for the same. While officers were speaking to the people inside the apartment, a dinner plate containing 1.3g of loose raw marijuana was on the table in plain view. Officers also noticed a .380cal pistol and a small clear baggie containing 3.8g of marijuana on the floor. The 52yr old female resident also presented officers with another baggie containing 9.7g of marijuana. A 54yr old male took responsibility for all of the marijuana that was discovered.  He was arrested and charged with weapon while intoxicated.  He also has a warrant with Shaker Hts.

9:36am – Female from Steinway Blvd. reported a male called from the IRS stating she owes them money and that an officer would be at her home in the next 24 hours if she does not call the IRS back. Call came from 866-744-6383 which comes back “not in service”.  Contact the Ohio Attorney Generals Office if you get a call like this.

1:36pm – Complaintant from Pease Rd. was concerned over receiving a suspicious call from a male stating he was from the IRS. Complaintant was advised this is a scam and not to give out any of her personal information.

12:53am – Two officers picked up 3 males (a 16yr old and two 18yr olds) walking on Thomas St./Waterbury Ave.  The 16yr old was transported to his home and turned over to his older brother.  His mother was issued a citation for curfew.

1:20am – Caller on Longview Ave. reported hearing 8 gunshots and a scream.  Officers located five casings in the intersection of Camden and Longview. Two males were located inside a car parked on a Longview Ave. driveway.  The odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle, and the males were detained and a Probable Cause search was conducted.  2.9g of raw marijuana, a digital scale  and an open 357ml bottle of Remy Martin V wine was located inside the vehicle.  Both subjects were 22yrs old, one was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernelia and released at the scene.  The other was cited for consumption of liquor in a motor vehicle and arrested on his warrant with Garfield Hts. for failure to appear for domestic violence.

6:47pm – Officer initiated a traffic stop on Broadway Ave./South Blvd.  The vehicle stopped was a Chevy but the plates on the vehicle return to a Dodge. The 56yr old driver was cited for driving under suspension and for marijuana paraphernalia.   He also  has warrants with Shaker Hts. for failure to appear and with Cleveland Hts.  The vehicle was towed and the driver and passengers were transported to York Rd. in Cleveland.

7:06pm – Officer initiated a traffic stop on Thomas St.  The 30yr old driver fled from the vehicle and was chased on foot, caught two streets away and placed under arrest for obstruction.  Found in the vehicle was a black digital scale with suspected marijuana residue. The driver was issued a citation for drug paraphernalia, right of way at intersections, stop sign, and failure to reinstate his license.

2:44am –  A heavyset female wearing all black clothing came into the apartment complex on Clare Ave. and pulled the fire alarm.  The suspect then ran up to a grey vehicle in the parking lot (which was later found behind Weave Lounge) and is now running East on Clare Ave. where she was apprehended.  Fire Department responded and attempted to reset the fire alarm, but could not because it was damaged when pulled.  Management was advised and the building is now on fire watch.  32yr old female subject was arrested and charged with inducing panic, disorderly conduct and intoxication.

4:25pm –  Giant Eagle employee called to report a black male shoplifter.  An auxiliary officer was on site at the time of the incident and located the 37yr old subject.   The subject stole candy which he returned before leaving the store.
