Zombie enthusiasts in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for an afterschool zombie takeover. Bring an old t-shirt to zombify for the parade!

 

Sticker Treat

Date: Thursday, October 30, 2014 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Children of all ages are invited come to the library in costume and Sticker-Treat, where they can collect spooky stickers, bookmarks, or other creepy-but-fun (inedible) treats from the various staff desks.

 

Weird Science Fridays!

Teens Grades 6-12. Are you looking for FUN and ADVENTURE? Are you tired of being bored after school? Well, look no further. Join us for some strange science experiments. Who knows what wacky and weird experiments or activities we’ll try! Join us: 10/3, 10/17, 10/31, 11/14.

 

Sound Science

Take a musical journey through the science of sound. Using everyday materials, Hal Walker guides you in shaping sound and experiencing how it travels. Learn basic scientific concepts and discover how to make music out of just about anything. Registration required.

Math in Motion (Family Literacy Night)

Date: Tuesday, November 4, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Children ages 7-12 and their parents/caregivers: Have fun with math! Using music and movement games, Terry Boyarsky teaches listening skills, problem-solving, team work and kinesthetic awareness. Participants will estimate, measure and analyze musical patterns and forms through rhythmic games, body percussion and song. Registration required.

 

What’s Up Wednesday

Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2014 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Teens grades 6-12. There’s always something happening for teens the 1st Wednesday afternoon of each month at Maple, whether it’s a Minute to Win It competition or taking a trip to Japan, or perhaps competing in a Jenga contest. Stop by to see “what’s up?” at the library. Join us: 9/3, 10/1, 11/5.
