1:08 AM – Shots were fired on Gerard. Police recovered a casing.

If you hear shots fired, please call the police. Firstly, multiple callers can help them pinpoint where the incident took place. Secondly, if someone has been injured your call could save a life. Thirdly, the gunman could be caught, stopping future crimes.

1:30 AM – A resident was awakened by fighting at a neighbors house. Police requested squad to transport one (transport was refused) and the second was arrested.

3:45 AM – A call reporting loud music resulted in an arrest due to failure to pay a Mayors Court fine.

Vehicles broken into overnight:

  • 2 on Tatra across from the end of Fairway, 6 on Fairway. Police took a few items to fingerprint.
  • 1 at the dead end of McCracken (for the 3rd time in the past 2-3 weeks).

7:02 – A broken door window was reported at Cuyahoga Beauty Supply.  2 males were seen on the surveillance camera stealing hair products.

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

7:37 AM – A gun was reported stolen from a vehicle on Dunbury Ave.

11:17 AM – A resident on called to report suspicious activity related to occupants of  a vehicle parked near Waterbury and Thomas. When the police ran the vehicles plates it was discovered that it had been stolen out of Bedford Heights.

Home, not-so-sweet, home.

3:51 PM – . While investigating a foul smell coming from a property, police discovered that a on Libby road was full of mold. Police did not enter the unsecured home because the home was so deteriorated. 

3:56 PM – Home on Waterbury had the water meter stolen and the basement was flooded.

9:13 PM – Vacant home with open front door was reported. Officers did not search due to the deteriorated structure of the home.

A bullet was located in siding of a home on Watson during follow up investigation of the homicide that occurred at the end of June.

Thursday, July 3, 2014

8:03 – Gambino’s Power Equipment reported that the fence had been cut overnight. Nothing was missing.

Brick City Catering / Jerry’s Catering received a Cease and Desist by from the Health Department.

Friday, July 4, 2014- Independence Day

6:12 PM – There was a garage fire at 5100 Cato Street property.

7:17 PM  – Complainant reported neighbors dog was chained in its own yard but had crawled under the fence and was now in her yard (still chained). The dog seemed aggressive and the owner was issued a citation for “animal at large.”

9:30 PM – 1:54 AM – 16 Reports of Fireworks.

The only fireworks that are legal are low grade novelty fireworks purchased at stores like Giant Eagle and Wal-Mart. 

Saturday, July 5, 2014

5:17 PM – Two females were arrested for criminal trespassing. An observant neighbor heard a window break and got a physical description of the suspects who were picked up a few blocks away by police.
