March 3, 2014

Honesty is not a forgotten virtue!

7pm – The caller stated that he found, and would like to turn in, a considerable amount of cash. The cash was found near Dunham Inn on Dunham Rd.  Officers contacted Dunham Inn and Teresa’s Pizza to see if there were any reports of missing money.  At this time, the money has not been claimed and has currently been put in the Chief’s safe and entered as found property.

7:48pm – Call received from James Ave. of child enticement.  Black male in his 30’s, driving a yellow sports car.  If you see this person, please notify the police at 216-662-1234.

March 4, 2014

3:12pm – A call came in reporting a possible fight taking place in the Dalewood Ave/Broadway Ave. area. where a group of males ran through traffic across Broadway Ave.  It was later discovered that this incident was actually an attempted robbery.  Two of the suspects were located at a residence on Dalewood Ave.  A total of three males were arrested and charged with robbery

9:45pm – While conducting a traffic stop on South Blvd./Broadway Ave., an inventory of the vehicle produced a plastic cup with an unknown liquor.  The female driver was arrested for: no operators license, operating a vehicle under the influence and falsification.

March 5, 2014

2:30pm – Security at Food Deal on Lee Rd. reported a burglary alarm showing front motion.  The keyholder of the property was notified and was enroute.  The front window was smashed and no suspects were found inside the business.

5:43pm – A report of an unoccupied vehicle running on Cato St.  One arrest was made for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and physical control.  Another subject was charged with open container and furnishing alcohol to an underaged person.

March 6, 2014

12:26pm – Patrolman Pozek initiated a traffic stop on a white Nissan Murano for no front plate.  He also discovered that the driver was driving under suspension and then made an arrest.  When the owner of the vehicle arrived, she stated that she was unaware of the suspension.  The vehicle was released to the owner after producing proof of insurance and a valid license.  The driver was transported to the Maple Heights Police Station.

4:04pm – A caller from Clare Ave. reported a black male carrying an X-box and a blue bag exiting from the backyard of a vacant house.  The subject then took a picture of the complaintant’s house and left walking towards Warrensville Center Rd.  When officers arrived, they discovered an open rear door on the vacant house and secured it.  The  subject was not located.

March 7, 2014

2:48pm – A Middle School associate heard that there would be a fight at the Middle School after classes.  While checking the area, he noticed three juveniles standing at the corner.  Three arrests were made for disorderly conduct.  One officer was transported to Bedford Hospital for injuries sustained during the arrest.

5:19pm – While conducting a traffic stop on Raymond St./Lee Rd. the officer, while taking inventory of the vehicle, discovered a cup containing dark liquid with an alcoholic ordor in the cupholder, a mason jar containing loose, raw marijuana located in the center console and a digital scale located on the passenger seat.  The driver was arrested for driving under suspension and cited for possession of marijuana, open container and paraphernalia.

March 8, 2014

2:43pm – An officer was conducting a traffic stop at the Giant Eagle on Warrensville Ctr. Rd. and while taking inventory of the vehicle found a open bottle of Hennessey Cognac.  The driver was issued a citation for the bottle and arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence.

5:26pm – An attempted burglary was reported from a residence on Stafford Ave.  The caller reported a black male with twists in his hair, wearing black pants and a black sweater broke the side door window and tried to enter her house until she yelled at him.

March 9, 2014

3:21am – A call was received regarding a weapons offense near the Dollar Bank on Warrensville Ctr. Rd. where the male in  pursuit dropped a gun.  Bedford Hts., Cleveland and Garfield responded for mutual aid. Vehicle in pursuit where subject entered and exited I480 from Warrensville Ctr. Rd. to Lee Rd.  The pursuit continued on Lee Rd. towards Cleveland where the subject was now on foot.  Male subject was taken into custody in Cleveland.  One male and one female were arrested.

March 10, 2014

1:34am – During a traffic stop, a baggie of marijuana was found in the drivers inside jacket pocket.  The driver was arrested for driving under suspension and the passenger was cited for no seatbelt.  The vehicle was towed and the passenger was transported to make arrangements for a ride.

7:16am – Off duty officer reporting a possibly intoxicated driver weaving on the roadway in Dunham Rd./Benhoff Dr. area.  The vehicle was stopped in front of Saridakis Auto on Granger Rd. where the driver was cited for driving outside of his restrictions (limited to daylight driving).  The vehicle was towed and the driver transported to a bus stop.
