Caregivers and their little ones 19-35 months are invited to share a program of books, rhymes, songs and fingerplays on Thursdays, January 9th through February 27th. Drop in!

The Sound of My Own Drum

Date: Thursday, February 27, 2014  7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Through exploration of African percussion and rhythms, students practice discipline and collaboration. Students learn how music is constructed an experiment with creating unique rhythms. As they listen to others they begin to appreciate that everyone in the world has something to say.

Wii Monday

Play Learn and Grow Workshop

Date: Monday, March 3, 2014 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Play, Learn and Grow Workshop is a five week series for parents and children ages one to three. A 60 minute program each week offers opportunities for children to play with developmentally appropriate toys in a play group atmosphere and for parents to meet and question community experts in the areas of child development, speech and language, nutrition, play, movement and music.  Registration is required and Siblings from birth to age 5 are welcome.

Preschool Storytime

Date: Tuesday, March 4, 2014  10:30 AM

Preschoolers (ages 3-5) and their caregivers can join us for Storytime fun with interactive stories, movement and songs.

Mardi Gras Party

Date: Tuesday, March 4, 2014  6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Celebrate Mardi Gras Maple Heights style. Beads, masks, music, food and a jazz parade.

Reader Bootcamp

Date: Tuesday, March 4, 2014 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Grades 1 – 3 Parents and Children who are struggling with their reading skills are invited to join us for a two part program of information and fun! For the first part, parents go separately with a Learning Specialist to learn tips for working with their child at home, while children remain with the librarian for fun reading based activities. During the second session, families participate together. The program runs Tuesdays in March 4, 11, 18, and April 1.

Night Night Baby

Date: Wednesday, March 5, 2014  6:30 PM

Babies and toddlers can end their day in a special way. Join us for a fun interactive program of rhymes, songs, finger plays, and books. Caregivers and their little ones birth – 35 months.
