December 3, 2012

11:22pm – Two vehicles were vandalized (broken windows) on Walvern Blvd.

December 4, 2013

5:56pm – On Nitra Ave, a report of a car with a smashed window.

7:10pm – ADT reported an alarm at a Hansom Rd residence showing hallway motion. A lawn chair had been pushed up to a rear window and the rock that was used to break the window was found inside the home. An iPhone, laptop, miscellaneous jewelry and wedding ring set were stolen.

December 5, 2013

1:03am – Multiple calls reporting multiple gunshots in the Kenyon Dr area. Unable to locate shell casings or evidence of shots.

1:30am – Patrolman reported hearing shots on Gardenview Dr. Unable to locate evidence of gunshots.

7:01am – Report of a black male in late 40’s early 50’s driving a small red pick up truck enticed a juvenile on Raymond St. Child ran to safety and was transported to school. Area was checked.

Theft from Auto

Overnight there was a theft from an unlocked automobiles on Catherine Street, Elmwood Avenue, E 141st Street and Kenyon Drive. 5 pairs of shoes and a pair of sunglasses were stolen, several credit cards and an Ohio drivers license, and a cup holder and an unknown amount of change were stolen, a purse and wallet (checkbook and IRS card were found a few houses down), respectively.

11:40am – 2 juveniles broke into a vehicle on Mapleboro Ave. Victim pursued. Witness called stating complainant pulled a gun on juveniles while chasing them, but no gun was found on his person or in his vehicle when he voluntarily allowed police to search him.

Burglary

Urban mining at vacant residence on Fairway. No signs of forced entry. Copper pipes were removed furnace moved. 2 weeks later another entry was made, furnace  and remaining copper pipes were taken. Urban miners also began taking apart the copper piping in a Maple Heights Blvd residence, but did not remove it from the residence.

Burglary to a Lafayette home. Burglars entered through a rear window and stole an x-box 360, 3 flat screen TVs and a laptop. They left behind fingerprints a hubcap from their vehicle.

A home on Grasmere Avenue was also burglarized.

December 6, 2013

9:31pm – Vehicle stolen from Cato Street driveway between 5 and 9:20pm. The vehicle was found with the key in the ignition at the dead end of Thomas street.

 December 7, 2013

3:18am – Vehicle flipped over on Maple Hts Blvd. Driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

10:53am – Thomas St. Neighbor called to report vehicle in driveway of vacant house. Male was inside house when police and claimed that he had a work order to winterize the home. He had no “mining” tools.

7:45pm – Reports of a car into a pole and shots fired on Warrensville Ct Rd and Hansen where an 18 year old, former MHHS student, died from a gunshot. The investigation is ongoing.

 December 8, 2013

4:45pm – A customer at Check Smart tried to cash a fraudulent check. The suspect was wearing a blond wig and chased by officers through the Mapletown parking lot. She left identification behind and the police were able identify her and issue a warrant for her arrest.

6:50pm – A vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a Lee road apartment between 6pm and 6:45pm.

5:03pm – A Krems Avenue resident called to report an open door at a neighboring vacant residence. Copper piping was gone from the home, but may have been gone for some time.

8:13pm – Fire Department responded to a Clement Avenue home in response to the resident reporting the smell of gas in her basement. Several leaks were discovered.
