November 8, 2013

A juvenile was assaulted on his way home from school near Mayville and Libby. He was walking east on Libby when 5 males approached him from behind and started punching him. He was able to identify two assailants and they will be charged with assault in the juvenile court.

November 9, 2013

A male was cutting across the old Raymond School lot around 8:30 PM and was assaulted by two masked men. The assailants  had a plastic gun. The victim fought back and stopped the men from robbing him.

November 12, 2013

While investigating copper piping being stolen from a vacant Mapleboro home, the Maple Heights Police caught a juvenile skipping school.

At 8:12 Patrolmen stopped a South bound vehicle on Broadway. The driver never put the vehicle in park and took off when the officers went to approach the vehicle and crashed in downtown Bedford, the suspect then ran and jumped over the wall at Tinkers Creek. He was arrested for driving without a license, violating probation and fleeing.

During a walk through at Mapleleaf Tavern the police found and arrested a man with two warrants through the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office.

November 15, 2013

11:45 AM Sun Jewelry was robbed at gun point. The employee was pistol whipped and transported to Bedford. The police found evidence in the bushes on the NW corner of Home Depot. They searched a potential suspect at the RTA station. While he was not found to be involved, he was arrested for the marijuana the officers found in his possession. The officers caught the thief as he was attempting to steal a vehicle from Sunnyslope Apartments.  The gun involved was stolen out of Kent, OH. 

During the day there was a burglary to a Philip Street home. The burglars gained access into the home through the first floor kitchen window and stole a TV, Laptop and 2 Michael Kors purses.

A neighbor in an apartment building on Clare reported a burglary to another apartment. A TV and PS3 were stolen. The renter was issued a citation for the Marijuana that was left sitting in plain view.

November 16, 2013

On the November 15th a 1994 Chevy was stolen from Ro’mae Total Beauty. The Cleveland Police found the vehicle the next day on E 54th Street with its column peeled.

November 17, 2013

8:10 PM A caller reported seeing 6-7 males and  hearing 4-5 shots fired on Clare Avenue. Police found a shell casing.

November 18th, 2013

Overnight Dispatch was busy with calls about down trees in Maple Heights due to wind. Auxiliary officers were out directing traffic due to power outages.

Overnight homeowners on Longview, McCracken, Raymond and Warrensville Center reported thefts of cash, a Garmin, a 30-day tag and a 6-pack of Pepsi being stolen from various unlocked automobiles.

Urban Miners were at work on Kenyon Drive, Mapleboro Road, and Arch Street during the past few weeks.
