About 3500 Maple Heights residents came out to the polls yesterday to vote.
Maple Heights Board of Education will have a new face come 2014, Rosilind Moore came in one vote behind Pamela Poindexter-Crews and Dober beat Dorsey by 22 votes for the remaining open seat.
On City Council both incumbents, Alex Adams, District 1, and Richard Trojanski, District 6, retained their seats by overwhelming margins. In district 4, Ron Jackson beat Dee Dee Price by 50 votes. District 5 is the closest race with Bill Brownlee in the lead over Charlene Hayden by 8 votes. In District 7, Edwina Agee soundly beat her opponent Walter Bizzell, Jr. In Districts 2 and 3, the incumbents Toni Jones and Anthony Cefaratti, were unopposed as was City Council President, Jackie Albers.
The Maple Heights Levy that was on the ballot failed with 2/3 of the residents voting against it. Without the income from this levy the City will likely be placed under “Fiscal Caution” by the State Auditor.
