Bedford’s Cloud Rains on Maple

On Saturday, the Mustangs and the Bearcats faced off in a steady rain. During the first half neither team scored. In the third quarter, Bedford’s quarterback Cloud recovered a fumbled pass  for the first touchdown and in the fourth quarter he scored two more touchdowns for the Bearcats leading them to an 18-0 victory over the Mustangs.

Seniors from the football team, cheerleading squad and band were also recognized at Saturday’s game

Prior to the game there was a small alumni tailgating party braving the cold, rainy weather. The alumni were then going form a tunnel for the players to enter the field through, however the field was too wet. When I talked to, Ladd Biro, he mentioned that there were times when the field was so wet that the bandsters white shoes would almost get sucked off by the mud. Bill Brownlee, Maple Hights News,  stopped by the tailgating party and captured on video a few memories of Stafford Stadium, which will be used in an upcoming story featuring the grand opening of the ‘Mustang Corral.’
