Upcoming Maple Heights Library Events

As you may have noticed if you’ve been to the Maple Heights Library since last Friday the area immediately inside the entrance, including the teen area and DVDs, have been moved to other locations in preparation for renovations. The circulation desk has been moved to Meeting Room A in the Civic Center, along with the reserved book shelves.

 

Toddler Storytime

Date: Thursday, October 17, 2013 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM

Caregivers and their little ones 19-35 months are invited to share a program of books, rhymes, songs and fingerplays on Thursdays, September 5th through November 21st. Drop in!

 

Lights on After School

Date: Thursday, October 17, 2013 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM

Join us as we celebrate all the fun libraries have to offer for school age students. Try your hand at Minute to Win it challenges and other activities.

 

Wii Monday

Date: Monday, October 21, 2013 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

TEENs get your game on earlier in the week! Students in grades 6-12 can join us each Monday afternoon for a different video game.

 

Family Storytime

Date: Monday, October 21, 2013 6:30 PM – 7:10 PM

Families are invited to join us for interactive stories, songs, fun and crafts.

 

Monday Evening Book Lovers

Date: Monday, October 21, 2013 7:15 PM – 8:30 PM

Join us for lively conversations about good reads. October’s title is Benediction by Kent Haruf.

 

Preschool Storytime

Caregivers and their children ages 3-5 are invited to join us for interactive stories, songs, and fun for preschoolers and their families on Tuesdays, September 3rd through November 26th at 10:30 AM. Drop in!

 

Reader Bootcamp

Date: Tuesdays, October 22, 2013 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Grades 1 – 3 Parents and Children who are struggling with their reading skills are invited to join us for a pizza dinner and a two part program of information and fun! For the first part, parents go separately with a Learning Specialist to learn tips for working with their child at home, while children remain with the librarian for fun reading based activities. During the second session, families participate together. Registration required.

 

Knit/Crochet Nights Winter 2013

Date: Wednesday, October 23, 2013 6:30 PM

Do you knit or crochet or have you always wanted to learn how?  Would you like to participate in charitable projects and connect with members of the community? Join us with your current project or new knitters/crocheters bring worsted weight yarn and size US7, 8 9 or 10 needles or size F, G, H or I crochet hook.  Wednesday evenings. Children accompanied by adult welcome.
