The Parade included many of the local veteran’s associations, all of whom rode in cars and golf carts. Also, making an appearance were some of the City officials. The adults watched, the children grabbed candy and everyone waved their flags as the Parade passed by.
Those who came out to the parade had a special treat this year. Two local Marines showed up in their dress blues and shook hands and gave high-fives. Bill Brownlee (Maple Heights) and Josh Carpenter (Cleveland Heights) served together in Fallujah, Iraq in 2006. They went out of their way to bring the celebration to every person along the route.
