I am looking forward to the 76th Annual Memorial Day Parade that will take place May 27th. The Parade is one of the biggest events in the City and a great opportunity to meet neighbors and to make new friends. Be sure to fly and wave your flags with pride as we celebrate the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform, past and present.
The Parade will form up at Stafford Park at 9:30am and the celebration with begin at 10:15am. The Parade will make its way down Libby Road to Lee Road and will end at the Veteran’s Memorial in front of City Hall (map). The Grand Marshall of the Parade will be World War II veteran Joseph P. Caputo from American Legion Post 309. Accompanying him in the Parade will be other service members, as well as local businesses and public officials. And, yes, there will be candy!
After the Parade, join us for a short service at the Veteran’s Memorial. Maple Heights service members will be honoring the fallen and Mayor Jeff Lanksy will deliver personal remarks for the occasion.
Memorial Day is the time we set aside to commemorate the price that was paid of our freedom. May God bless America!
