First Weekend of Events

This Saturday is going to be the busiest weekend yet with three events: City Shred Day; Pitch, Hit & Run; and Opening Day for the Maple Heights Youth Soccer League. If you don’t have plans, try one of these events!

City Shred Day

The City Shred Day is an opportunity to properly dispose of those sensitive papers that have collected around the house. Just throw them in a box, hope in the car and run down to Stafford Park between 9:00am and Noon. A quick and easy drive-thru will be set up so that you can get in and out in no time!

Pitch, Hit & Run

This event is sponsored by the Maple Heights Boys League. Pitch,Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills. Come on out to Stafford Park at Noon to see the fun!

Youth Soccer League

Saturday will be the opening day of the season for the city-sponsored league. Kids from 3-12 will be playing their first games at the new Benhoff Fields (map). The games will be starting at 10:00am.

Anyone who wishes to sign up may still do so. The late signup fee will be $30. Signups can be done at one of the meetings at Benhoff Field either Monday (tonight) or Thurday (April 18th) evenings at 6:00pm.

The league is still looking for coaches for the 6-8 year-old teams. The only requirement is that you want to give the kids your best. For more information, visit the Maple Heights Youth Soccer website.
